Admissions Center Opened in Harlingen
The Office of Admissions has opened its fourth regional admissions center. The new Rio Grande Valley Admissions Center is available to meet the needs of students, families, and educators in Harlingen and surrounding areas. Let us know how we can help you!
New Essays
Students have some different essay prompts to respond to when applying for summer/fall 2008. The new essays are designed to allow students to talk about things they know about from a personal perspective. You’ll find the new prompts on the Be a Longhorn Essays page.
Engineering Name Change
The College of Engineering at UT Austin has been renamed the Cockrell School of Engineering in honor of Ernest J. Cockrell Jr. of Houston, a 1936 graduate of the university who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in petroleum engineering.
