Coordinated Admission Program Universities University of Texas at Arlington
The University of Texas at Arlington was established in 1895 and has evolved into one of the leading universities in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Located just 30 miles east of Fort Worth and 30 miles west of Dallas, UT Arlington students can experience the "real world," with more than 25,000 students in attendance from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. In addition more than 4,000 students live on campus and experience college life, from UT Arlington traditions like ooze ball and bed races to participating in one of the 260 student organizations.
Financial Aid
Financial need is determined once you submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may pick up a paper FAFSA from your high school guidance counselor or you may request that an application be mailed to your home by calling 1-800-433-3243. If you haven't done so already, you may file an application electronically on the FAFSA web site.
If you applied for financial aid for UT Austin (by completing the FAFSA) but plan to attend UT Arlington as part of CAP, you must make certain that UT Arlington is authorized to receive your FAFSA information. The deadline for applying for financial aid is May 15, 2008.
If you did not originally designate UT Arlington to receive your information, you can make the correction to your FAFSA in one of several ways.
Options for Correcting Your FAFSA
Paper Student Aid Report (SAR)
If you have your paper SAR, add UT Arlington’s FAFSA school code (003656) in Step 6 of the FAFSA, sign the report and return it to the address indicated for corrections.
Phone Correction
Call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-433-3243. You will need the Data Release Number (DRN) printed on your SAR to make the correction by phone.
Online
Visit the FAFSA on the Web and select the Add or Delete a School Code link. You will need a Federal Student Aid PIN to access and update your FAFSA information online. If you don't know your PIN, visit the Federal Student Aid PIN site for help.
Scholarships
If you attend UT Arlington through CAP, you may apply for scholarships using the paper scholarship application. The deadline for applying for UT Arlington Designated Scholarships is June 1, 2008.

Housing
UT Arlington offers several options if you'd like to live on campus while at the university. Although on-campus housing is not guaranteed, the university offers several options for on-campus living including residence halls and on-campus apartments.
If you'd like to live on campus at UT Arlington, you must fill out an online housing application. You'll then be eligible to receive a housing contract. Visit the Housing Office site to learn more about on-campus living options at UT Arlington.

THEA/TSI Information
Sometimes it is necessary for college-bound students to take a test to get into a Texas college or in order to place students into the proper developmental coursework in college. The THEA (Texas Higher Education Assessment) test assesses reading, writing and math skills. To find out if your exempt from this test, please visit UT Arlington's Texas Success Initiative (TSI) web site.
Placement Testing
The Mathematics Department at UT Arlington requires that students take placement tests prior to enrolling for certain lower-division mathematics courses. The Mathematics Department does not award credit by examination on the basis of the Mathematics Placement Test or Calculus Readiness Test.
The Modern Language (foreign language) Department recommends students take a placement test prior to enrolling for certain lower-division courses. Modern Language placement tests may be taken in an attempt to earn credit by examination.

Approved CAP Courses at UT Arlington
Many students are interested to find out what courses they can take during their freshman year at UT Arlington. Review the approved UT Arlington course listings to find out what courses are available. If you are eligible to attend UT Arlington as part of CAP and you choose to attend UT Arlington, the university will contact you after you submit your online CAP agreement with information about orientation and class registration. Be sure to consult an academic advisor before making final decisions about the courses you take.

Visiting the UT Arlington campus is the best way to discover if the university is right for you. UT Arlington offers campus tours at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Monday-Friday and at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
