As defined by the State of Texas Recommended High School Program
The state’s Recommended High School Program requires students to complete at least 26 credits in grades 9-12 as described below. One year’s work in a subject counts as one credit; one semester counts as a half credit. Students may fulfill coursework requirements with dual credit courses taken while in high school.
The requirement for applicants to graduate under the state’s Recommended High School Program is defined in the state’s Uniform Admission Policy (Texas Education Code §§51.803-51.809). Applicants can also meet the requirement by graduating under the Distinguished Achievement Program (also known as the Advanced High School Program). Exemptions are also available.
