Requirements and deadlines First-Time College Students

International students who have no post-secondary study and are interested in applying for undergraduate admission must submit the following items by the application deadline.

January 15, 2009 – 2009 Summer/Fall Priority Deadline

October 1 - Spring Deadline (all years)

Application Requirements
Application	Submit your completed ApplyTexas Application (the online application is preferred).
Non-refundable $75 application processing fee	Must be paid before your application will be processed; must accompany application to avoid delay in processing Online payment through the online application is preferred; pay by credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or electronic check (do not send cash or personal checks.) Alternate payment by check or money order If you are not able to pay your fee online using a credit card, you may mail your fee payment in the form of a cashier’s check, bank money order or bank draft in U.S. dollars to: Graduate and International Admissions Center The University of Texas at Austin P.O. Box 7608 Austin, Texas 78713-7608 Make checks payable to The University of Texas at Austin. Do not send cash or personal checks. Write your Application ID number (six digit), UT EID, or UT Assigned Student ID number on your check or money order.
Official transcripts; related documents	Submit an official record of all secondary school work, including subjects taken and grades earned
Test scores	Submit official test scores for either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the ACT Assessment (ACT) Submit official test scores for either the TOEFL or the IELTS
Essays	Include two admission essays
Resume	Submit a resume showing your contributions, talents, honors and abilities in extracurricular, personal and volunteer activities.
Major-specific Requirements	To be considered for admission to some majors, applicants must meet additional requirements or submit additional materials. Review the information about program-specific requirements for affected schools & majors when completing your application.
Letters of Recommendation (optional)	You may submit two letters of recommendation along with your completed application, but these are not required.
Financial Requirements	To enroll at UT Austin, admitted international students must meet the financial requirements established by the International Office.

The Office of Admissions keeps application materials, including test scores and transcripts, for one calendar year. If you have applied in the past, you may be required to re-submit certain credentials.

Application Timing

Complete and forward your application to the university as early as possible to allow sufficient time to obtain your visa and arrange for transportation if admission is granted.

Summer/fall applications received after the January 15, 2009, priority deadline but before March 1, 2009, are reviewed on a space-available basis. March 1 is the closing deadline for undergraduate applications. If your application is received after the deadline, it will be reviewed only if space becomes available, or you can request to have your application updated to the next semester.
