Information and assistance through Other Events

The Office of Admissions offers lots of opportunities for you to learn about the University and to receive the information and assistance you need to complete the admissions process.

Event Opportunities

Day Visits

Your UT Austin admissions counselor tries each fall to bring our campus to yours, through a Day Visit. At a Day Visit, you can get to know your admissions counselor; find out about special programs, opportunities, and resources available to you; and learn how to apply for admissions, housing, and financial aid. Seniors who are applying to UT Austin can even submit parts of their application to admissions counselors during Day Visits.

Application Round-Ups

Wondering how you’ll get everything turned in on time? Consider an Application Round-Up to hand deliver updated information and items remaining to complete your application. Freshman admissions counselors are on hand to collect materials and to answer any questions you and your parents have about UT Austin. Our admissions deadline is February 1 and Round-Ups are held in accessible locations in cities across Texas throughout January. Log in to Be a Longhorn for information about Application Round-ups in your area.

College Days / College Nights

Admissions counselors attend these school-wide and city-wide programs across Texas to deliver the information you need. Some College Days or Nights are "information fairs"; others involve more formal presentations or Q&A sessions about admissions, housing, and financial aid. To find out about College Days and College Nights in your community, log in to Be a Longhorn each time you visit.

Send-Offs

Becoming a Longhorn is so special that some Texas communities hold summertime programs designed to introduce you to your local Longhorn community before "sending you off" to Austin. You’ll receive insider information on the University from other incoming freshman, current UT Austin students, Texas Exes (alumni), and admissions and university representatives. Fellow Longhorns can be great connections when you're looking for internships, advice, scholarships, or jobs after college, so get to know your hometown Longhorns early!

To find out about events in your area, log in and check the messages in the Be a Longhorn Message Center.
