For high school juniors rise and shine At Explore UT

Many juniors reach the final semester of their junior year and often ask us, "What can I do now if I want to apply to UT Austin?" Although you can't apply yet, you can do a number of things to learn more about the college application process. Attending Rise and Shine is one of them.
The Rise and Shine program is a 40-minute information session for high school juniors and their families held during Explore UT that offers information about admissions, housing, paying for college and achieving success after high school. Three identical Rise and Shine sessions will be offered at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.
The information sessions provide answers to your questions about:
- admission to UT Austin
- living on and off campus
- the day-to-day life of a UT Austin student
- how to achieve success in college
- planning for your future
During Rise and Shine, you'll have the opportunity to:
- participate in an admissions Q&A session
- address questions to a panel of current UT Austin students
- participate in other Explore UT activities for prospective students
Registration
Rise and Shine reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and are required for participation in the program. Once your registration is received, we'll send you a confirmation letter with additional information about the program. Space is limited, so register early.

While on campus for Rise and Shine, we encourage you to also participate in the additional activities offered during the annual Explore UT—“the biggest open house in Texas.”
Explore UT is a day-long campus-wide program filled with fun, free activities for the entire family. Every college on campus offers activities, demonstrations, lectures, tours or events that offer attendees a glimpse into what happens behind the walls of each college on campus. Many of the Explore UT events are designed for prospective students.
While registration is required for Rise and Shine, there is no registration for Explore UT. You can learn more about Explore UT activities, plan your schedule and locate places to eat while on campus on the Explore UT web site.
