The University of Texas at Austin’s East Texas Admissions Center is located in Longview and serves prospective students, families, and high school counselors in eastern region of Texas, including Tyler, Longview, Lufkin, Marshall, Nacogdoches, Texarkana, and the areas surrounding these cities.
What We Offer
The East Texas Admissions Center offers the following services:
- Information sessions and office hours for prospective students and their families
- High school visits
- Admissions application assistance
- Application materials drop-offs
- Introductions to Texas Exes from East Texas
Should I meet with someone?
Admissions staff are available to answer questions about the application and enrollment process, but meeting with someone from Admissions won't impact your admission decision. Interviews are not part of the university's general admissions process.

Admitted Freshman Information Session (entering UT Austin in Summer/Fall 2013)
Are you a high school senior who's received an offer of admission to The University of Texas at Austin? Yes? Congratulations! During this information session at the East Texas Admissions Center, an admissions counselor will detail your next steps, plus answer questions you and your family may have about the university and the enrollment process.

Are you a Texas Ex living in East Texas?
We need your help sharing your UT Austin experience with prospective and admitted students from East Texas. There are many ways to get involved with our recruitment efforts, but the first step is to sign up with Exes for Texas—a program in the Office of Admissions that connects Texas Exes with prospective and admitted students. Once we know how to contact you and learn about the ways you’d like to get involved with our recruitment activities, we’ll be happy to call on you during the year.
Location and Hours
The UT Austin-East Texas Admissions Center is located off Loop 281 (Tomlinson Parkway) next to the Oak Forest Country Club.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with the exception of university holidays).
