The Houston Admissions Center (HAC) is your connection to UT Austin right in your own hometown. Without ever leaving the Houston area, you have access to the information, resources and admissions support you need to make an informed decision about applying to the university.
Services Offered at the Houston Admissions Center
Admissions Information Sessions
Please call 713-500-BEVO or e-mail the Houston Admissions Center to reserve a place at one of the following information sessions. Please include the student’s name, high school, phone number and the number of guests who’ll be attending the information session. Space is limited so advance reservations are required.
Admitted Students: Attend the admitted student information session to learn what you should do next to secure your place at UT Austin. We’ll talk about housing, orientation, placement testing and what other things you should do between now and your first day at UT Austin. Information sessions will be offered on the following dates.
- Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m.: March 26, April 2 and April 9
Prospective Freshmen: Are you a high school junior or sophomore who wants to learn more about UT Austin and what we look for when making freshman admissions decisions? Attend one of the scheduled admissions information sessions in the Houston Admissions Center. We’ll review all aspects of the application process, including admissions, housing, scholarships, financial aid and honors programs. Information sessions will be offered for prospective students on the following dates.
- Thursdays at 3:30 p.m.: March 27, April 3 and April 17
Prospective Transfer Students: Interested in transferring to UT Austin from another college or university? Learn more about the transfer admissions requirements at one of the scheduled transfer information sessions offered on the following dates.
- Check back later in the spring for prospective transfer student info session dates.
School Visits
Admissions counselors from the HAC make frequent visits to Houston-area high schools to talk about your academic interests and some of the interesting things happening on the UT Austin campus.
Application Drop Offs and Roundups
Running a little behind on your application? Drop off your admissions application, high school or college transcripts, resume, essays or any other materials you’d like us to consider as part of your application. Admissions materials received at our office by the deadline are considered on time.
Application Assistance
If you have questions about the online applications for admissions, on-campus housing or scholarships, or you just need a computer with Internet access to learn more about UT Austin, stop by the HAC and use one of ours. We have space for you to work on your application, and we’ll be there to help you if you have questions about applying online.
Visit Us
The Houston Admissions Center is centrally located near the Texas Medical Center on the first floor of the University Center Tower on the corner of Pressler and Fannin. At the top of our building you will see The University of Texas-Houston sign. Park in the parking garage in the University Center Tower, entrance on Fannin. Bring in your parking ticket and we will validate it in our office.
The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (with the exception of university holidays).
