The University of Texas at Austin

All new transfer students and all students who have been admitted to UT Austin after successfully completing the Coordinated Admission Program (CAP) should attend orientation.

Orientation sessions are available to students based on the term or semester in which they enroll at the university.

You will be able to register for orientation only after

  • You have been admitted to a specific major (since some majors are not represented at some orientation sessions) and
  • You have satisfied your enrollment deposit (either by paying the deposit or, if your deposit is deferred, by indicating that you intend to enroll).

To register for orientation or to find out more information about orientation, please visit the Orientation Web site. You’ll find details about when orientation sessions are held for each semester or term and when orientation registration opens – along with some Frequently Asked Questions with lots of details.

If you have additional questions, contact New Student Services (NSS) at 512-471-3304, office hours are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
