A Message from the Director
¡Bienvenidos! Welcome to the Valley Admissions Center web site. We are excited to be here and to be able to bring UT Austin to the border. Opening an admissions center in the Valley has been a long time coming, and there is great enthusiasm to be able to offer prospective students and their families the resources of the UT Austin Office of Admissions.
Whether you’re just beginning to consider your college options or you’ve already been admitted to UT Austin, the Valley Admissions Center’s staff is here to help you explore the unlimited opportunities available to you at the university. Selecting a college is an important decision, so don’t feel like you have to do this alone; we’re here to help you through every step of the process. Services Offered at the Valley Admissions Center
Admissions Information Sessions
The Valley Admissions Center offers separate information sessions for high school seniors and juniors. Please call 956-365-8630 or e-mail the Valley Admissions Center to reserve a place at one of the following prospective student information sessions.
Please include the date of the scheduled information session, your name, high school, year that you’ll graduate, phone number and the number of guests who’ll be attending the information session. Space is limited so registration is required. Each session lasts about an hour and 15 minutes.
For High School Seniors: Are you a high school senior who wants to learn more about UT Austin and what we look for when making freshman admission decisions? Attend one of the scheduled admissions information sessions for high school seniors in the Valley Admissions Center. We’ll review all aspects of the application process, including the application processes and deadlines for admission, housing, scholarships, financial aid and honors programs. Information sessions will be offered for prospective students on the following dates.

For High School Juniors: It’s never too early to begin thinking about college and your plans for higher education. If you’re a high school junior who wants to learn more about UT Austin and what you and your family can do right now to prepare for applying to UT Austin, please sign up for one of our junior information sessions.
We’ll discuss which classes you should take your junior and senior years, which standardized tests you should take and when, how to pay for college, where and when you should apply for financial aid and scholarships, when you can begin applying for admission to UT Austin and much more!

Financial Aid Counseling
We want to make the process of applying for scholarships and financial aid as simple as possible. That’s why we have a full-time financial aid counselor that can meet one-on-one with students and their families to discuss the financial aid and scholarship application process.

School Visits
Admissions counselors from the Valley Admissions Center make frequent visits to high schools throughout the Valley to talk about your academic interests and some of the interesting things happening on the UT Austin campus.
Application Drop Offs and Roundups
Running a little behind on your application? Drop off your admissions application, high school or college transcripts, resume, essays or any other materials you’d like us to consider as part of your application. Admissions materials received at our office by the deadline are considered on time.
Application Assistance
If you have questions about the online applications for admissions, on-campus housing or scholarships, or you just need a computer with Internet access to learn more about UT Austin, stop by the Valley Admissions Center and use one of ours. We have space for you to work on your application, and we’ll be there to help you if you have questions about applying online.

Our Location
The Valley Admissions Center is located in The University of Texas Health Science Center’s Regional Academic Health Center in Harlingen—across the street from Valley Baptist Memorial Hospital.
The office is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (with the exception of university holidays).
Visitors should park in front of the building and check in with security after entering the building through the front doors. A security guard will direct you to the office.
