Treasures and Highlights

The Blanton Museum of Art is recognized as one of the leading university art museums in the country. With over 17,000 works of art in its collection, it is the largest university art museum in the country. The museum is first and foremost an object-based teaching and research institution. The museum’s grand new building opened its doors to the public on April 29, 2006.

For 25 years the Performing Arts Center has played host to the greatest performing artists in theater, music and dance to the thrill and delight of millions in Central Texas.
The Miró String Quartet, one of America's brightest and most exciting young string quartets, is the resident Faculty String Quartet at The University of Texas at Austin Butler School of Music.
