Academics and more… Beyond the Classroom

Students come to the University of Texas at Austin to take advantage of some of the finest academic programs in the nation. And once on campus they interact with other students, professors and staff while discovering the breadth and depth of resources that the university offers, expanding their learning opportunities beyond the classroom – often across the globe.
Undergraduate students learn about themselves and their world through available freshman and academic honors programs, through study abroad opportunities, and through Signature Courses designed specifically to introduce first-year students to the best that UT has to offer and to the university’s treasures.
Freshman Interest Groups and special programs administered by the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement and the Office of Student Affairs also help students to make the transition to life as a college student and to help them find their niche on campus.
