Gibson's play helped guide the 2005-2006 basketball team to the Elite Eight of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The Longhorn basketball team has reached the NCAA post-season tournament eight straight years, reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 2002 and 2004 and the Final Four in 2003.
