Something to do and someone to do it with Campus Life

With nearly 50,000 other students and a 350-acre campus just blocks from downtown Austin, you’re sure to find something to do and someone to do it with.

Many students join organizations, volunteer or participate in recreational sports by playing on an intramural team, working out in one of four gyms or lounging around the Gregory Gym Aquatic Complex. If you prefer lecture halls, you'll frequently find world-class musicians and speakers on campus. In recent years, the university has welcomed engaging speakers like the Dalai Lama, Barack Obama (for a nationally televised presidential primary debate with Hillary Rodham Clinton, who is now President Obama’s Secretary of State), Bill Gates, Al Gore and filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, as well as performers such as Jerry Seinfeld, Kanye West, George Lopez and Keith Urban.
And whether students need to conduct research for a term paper or just want to spend a quiet afternoon in the museum, they have the resources of the university’s world-class libraries and museums right at their fingertips.
